Which diet pill are you currently taking for your weight loss needs? Recently, many people have been switching to brand names as opposed to generics. This is because generic manufacturing is put under far less strict rules and conditions. For example, the purity of the prescription drug you are taking is allowed to be far less when manufactured as a generic.

Should I Buy Generic Prescription Medications?

If you are taking a generic prescription medication, another factor to consider is that there are several generic versions of Phentermine available online and from brick-and-mortar pharmacies. Depending on which pharmacy you use, you may receive a different version of generic Phentermine each time you refill your prescription. This may affect your ability to lose weight, as different purity levels and doses of medication will change benefits and the number and strength of side effects.

It is recommended that you choose a brand name version of Phentermine, such as Adipex-P, and continue using that brand exclusively to avoid getting medication containing a dissatisfactory purity of Phentermine.

Generic Or Brand Name Phentermine: Which Is Best For Me?

In many cases, the generic versions of Phentermine use differing
mechanisms of action, and, therefore have differing efficiencies.
This inconsistency can affect your program for weight loss. You may want to stick with a single brand that is proven to yield
consistent results.

Which Brand Name Diet Pill Should I Use?

Adipex (Adipex-P) is a weight loss medication that is indicated for short-term use. This is because long term use will cause you to build tolerance and, therefore, all Phentermine diet medications will lose their effectiveness.

If you are enjoying refreshing bursts of energy in the morning,
but then are becoming hungry during the night hours, have a chat
with your doctor about using Adipex-P 37.5mg tablets. Many doctors prescribe this medication for their patients because the 37.5mg tablet can be broken in half. As a result, you can take half (18.75mg) in the morning and the other half at night to extend your medication’s effectiveness through the whole day. If you then have trouble sleeping at night, talk to your doctor, who will probably tell you to take half (18.75) a tablet per day, until you can tolerate Adipex.

Adipex-P is, so far, the only version of Phentermine which lasts over 12 hours. However, please remember to diet and exercise along with taking your medication in order to maximize weight loss and your health.

Keep In Mind:

Note that I’m not a physician. You should talk to your doctor before taking any advice found in this article. I do not speak on behalf of the manufacturer of Adipex-P, Gate Pharma. I simply do a great deal of research in the health field. I just love to do it, so you can expect good information from my newsletter! Visit

Making soap in a crock pot is an easy way to use the “hot process” method.

This how-to tutorial outlines my steps for making crock pot soap and assumes you are familiar with the soapmaking process.

Start with a good recipe. I prefer recipes that have a higher amount of liquid oil to solids. One of my favorite recipes is very simple: 60% Olive Oil, 20% Palm Kernel Oil, 20% Palm Oil. Run it through a lye calculator to determine the amount of lye and [distilled] water needed. I don’t discount my water when making hot process. (One of my favorite recipes is at the end of these instructions.)

I use a 6 1/2 quart crock pot. A 4 pound batch of soaps fits perfectly. It fills the crock pot about half full - giving room in the case of it bubbling up, but not too little an amount that it could burn.

First, measure water and set aside.

Then measure the lye into a separate container. Slowly pour the lye into the pitcher of cold water. Stir until dissolved. Set aside in a safe place.

Once I have my lye mixture set aside, I measure my solid oils. These can be put into the crock pot to be melted. But, it takes longer this way, so I generally put them into the microwave for a couple minutes until melted and then pour into the crockpot.

At this point, my crock pot is on low.

I recommend using a good rubber spatula to scrape the bowl - no sense leaving any good oils behind.

Next, I measure my olive oil - and/or any other liquid oils I happen to be using - and pour this into the crockpot.

Get out your handy-dandy stickblender and using low speed, slowly pour the lye mixture into the melted oils. Gently move the stickblender around, up, down, around, ensuring a nice even blend. If you don’t have a stickblender, a stainless steel wire whisk works great too - just requires a little more arm power.

Once it has reached ‘trace’, I put the lid on the crockpot and turn the heat setting up to high. However, the first few times I made crock pot soap, I left it on low until I was confident in how it worked (both the soap AND my crockpot).

Now, I ready my mold, measure out any fragrance oils or essential oils and any additives I plan to use.

After about 15 or 20 minutes, I take the lid off and, using a potato masher, mash the soap around. It has a look of a vaseline texture; glossy, slick. It will have a waxy feel if you rub a piece of it between gloved fingers.

Add your additives, colorants, herbs, etc and mix well using the potato masher. Once that is blended fairly well, add your fragrance and mix again.

It is done! At this point, it’s really soap. It only needs to be put into your mold. I do this in large spoonfuls, pounding my mold on the counter every few scoops to ensure it packs into the mold tightly. Once I have it all in the mold, I put a baggie on my hand and flatten the top - making sure to “squish” it into the corners really well.

Now is a good time to wash all the dishes. And you don’t even need to add any soap! You should see some lovely lather from the soap you’ve just made.

I let this sit over-night. The next morning, I unmold and slice into bars to air out for a week or so. Once each bar has had time to harden, I bevel each one and it’s ready for use, or sale.

My favorite crock pot soap recipe:

Rosemary Mint Handmade Soap

4 pounds
- 38 ounces olive oil (59.38%)
- 14.4 ounces palm kernel oil (22.5%)
- 11.6 ounces palm oil (18.13%)
- 8.7 ounces sodium hydroxide (5% discount)
- 17.5 ounces distilled water
- 3 ounces rosemary mint blend essential oils
- 2 teabags of Organic Peppermint tea

Disclaimer: Sodium Hydroxide is highly caustic and should be handled carefully and knowledgeably. It is the soapmakers responsibility to research safety procedures for soapmaking.

Judi Cox is a wife and mother of 4 children. Her hobbies include, but are ever growing, making handmade soap, gardening, crafts, web design, reading…

I love Pepsi. It’s that slightly sweeter taste and the all-American logo combined with the non-conformist statement that, well, it’s not Coke.

Yet Pepsi has been consistently #2, and there’s nothing wrong with being #2 if that’s your goal. But Pepsi’s goal is to be the #1 preferred brand (notice I didn’t say ‘taste’ - we all took the Pepsi taste test and they’re still #2) with members of the eponymously titled Pepsi Generation - an age group that they seemingly stretch from year to year.

As of late, Pepsi has employed Pop-Culture icons to represent their brand : Britney, Big n’ Rich, AROD and Jeff Gordon to name a few. Yet none of them seem to capture Coke’s ageless, timeless wave of emotion brought on by a 6 year-old boy and Mean Joe Green. That commercial touched all of our senses; the agony of defeat, a fan’s elation with their idol, a friendship being forged between generations and a refreshing beverage that made everything ok. Coke continues to focus on the experience, while Pepsi focuses on taste.

Which is why I cringe every time I go to a restaurant that only carries Pepsi products; Sure, I’m happy, but what of those who prefer Coke? The waiter/waitress always asks if you would like a beverage before ordering, and an overwhelming majority of people reply, “I’ll have a Coke.” The wait staff them replies with the brand kiss of death:

“Is Pepsi ok?”

Is it ok? It’s like saying ‘no we don’t have Coke, but will you settle for this sub-par beverage?” And because they ask this way, the customer always reluctantly answers ‘yeah, I guess.’

For every restaurant, there should be an in-house Pepsi Brand Champion - someone who will train all restaurant employees on Pepsi’s passion, core values, culture and more importantly, how to make it preferred! Instead of making it the red-headed step child on the menu, they should wear buttons that read, ‘We Proudly Serve Pepsi Products’. There should be a branded way to respond to the unavoidable Coke question. There should be Pepsi soda glasses and other branded materials so that it’s no surprise to the customers. People do not choose restaurants because of the soda they carry, so Pepsi needs to step up and educate it’s captured audience on why they should be the choice of every generation.

A richly scented candle holds more fragrance than an ordinary candle, which means that they will hold the scent right to the very end of the candle. It is a simple process to make homemade candles so that you get just the right scent that you want. There are many places where you can get instructions, tips and secrets to help you create your own richly scented candle, such as books and magazines. However, there are many Internet sites devoted to helping people make their own richly scented candles at home.

To get started with making a homemade scented candle, you do need to have the right equipment. In addition to the proper wax and cooking equipment, you will need to have essential oils that you need to get the rich scents you want. You can combine many of the candle scents to create a scent that is unique to your richly scented candle. Candles can only hold a certain amount of scent. In an ordinary scented candle, .5 ounces of essential oil is the normal amount to use. In a candle that is richly scented, you can triple that amount to 1.5 ounces.

Some of the most popular candle scents include the scent of homemade baking. When you enter a home that has the scent of gingerbread, lemon pie or other delectable goodies wafting through the air, you get a cozy feeling. How about a homemade scented candle with the rich scent of cinnamon? When you are talking about a richly scented candle, you can also have them made in the shape of home baked goodies, such as a cinnamon log or a blueberry tart.

Soy wax is the best to use to make a richly scented candle. This is because this natural ingredient holds the scent better in addition to burning longer. They also have a stronger scent throw, which enables you to fill the entire room with the candle scents. You do have to melt the wax over high heat in a double boiler. Then you add the color and the scent that you want for your homemade scented candles. You can pick up a variety of molds at craft stores or at online candle making supply stores or you can even make you own. Simply forming a mold out of tinfoil is a very inexpensive way to make your own scented candles.

The candle scents you can buy for making a richly scented candle are not watered down with any other ingredients. If you are nor sure of which scents you want for your homemade scented candle you can experiment with various scents to find the combination you want or simply stick to one scent. The amount of oil that you use and the type of wax will determine how well the richly scented candle does hold its scent. Once you find the perfect combination, then you are well on your way to working on a exciting hobby.

A Christening is a very special occasion, and is often considered a young child’s first big day. So most Parents will want to plan an occasion that is memorable and enjoyable for everyone. Here are just a few tips for planning the perfect Christening.

Set the Date
Make a list of preferred dates, and then check with the church or venue to ensure that they can accommodate those dates, as well as your requirements for the ceremony. Then check with your guests to find out their availability on those dates - particularly the guests who will be taking part in the ceremony (i.e.: Godparents). Try not to get things fully underway before checking that your planned date is suitable for everyone.

Meet the Vicar
If you are having the ceremony in Church, arrange to meet with the vicar. They will be able to tell you about their church and community, take you for a look around, and tell you how they normally conduct their ceremonies. This should help you to feel comfortable with the vicar and the church, and also help you to confirm whether the type of ceremony suits you. Meeting with the vicar is also a courtesy that they’ll appreciate.

Consider Making a Donation
Churches do not charge fees for Christenings, but do consider making a donation. Most Churches depend on financial gifts and collections from the community and those who use the church, so anything you can offer will be appreciated. After all, they will be welcoming your child into their community.

Photography and Filming
Always check your chosen church’s rules on photography and filming. Some churches decline photography and filming during the ceremony, but are happy for photographs outside after the ceremony. Some churches have their own list of preferred photographers and videographers, so do ask them. You can also consider a professional photographer for portraits outside the church (weather permitting!), or even a studio sitting, booked for a day after the Christening. It’s another reason to get dressed up!

God Parents
Make sure that your chosen Godparents are clear on their responsibilities, not just for the Christening day, but in their roles as your child’s Godparent. It is important that they know what will be required of them in the ceremony so that you will all feel comfortable. It is also a good way of finding out whether your chosen Godparents are likely to change their mind at the last minute!

Invite
You may wish to send out formal invitations to your Christening guests. If you plan to buy these in the shops, make sure that you’ll be able to find the design you want in adequate numbers. If you are planning to order handmade or personalised invitations for the event, be sure to order them in plenty of time to allow for proofs, last-minute changes and order delivery.

Be Practical
Of course, you’ll want your VIP to look fabulous on the day. Be sure to pick outfits that are both stylish and practical for your baby (view a gorgeous collection at www.beascreations.net), so they’ll look elegant while feeling contented and comfortable on their big day.

Keep your VIP happy
A Christening is much easier and more enjoyable when the guest of honour is content and able to enjoy the ceremony with your family and friends. Therefore, make sure you do all you can to keep your baby happy and comfortable in the lead up to the ceremony (nappy changes, times of feedings etc). Also, try to keep your baby in familiar arms for the main part of the ceremony, so that they will not become agitated or unsettled.

_______________________

These are just the main tips for organising a perfect Christening, and should ensure that a wonderful day is enjoyed by all.

Trademark experts strongly emphasized the responsibility of American businesses to register immediately their names in China in order to avoid becoming the preys of brand squatters. They said that U.S companies, regardless whether they have future plans for expansion in the Asian country or none, need to enlist their names as quickly as possible. This action is necessary in order for them to avoid losing their business name for other local industries in mainland China.

Stephen Baker who works at Baker & Rannells as a trademark lawyer, stated that international brand name squatting is very similar to domain name squatting. The attorney added that cases of name squatting in the internet have increased as with the growing fame of the web and online businesses. He noted that businesses that did not immediately register the name of their company as their web address usually found out that another online industry was also sharing the same trademark with them. Surprisingly, some of these brand squatters even successfully obtained a huge amount of cash from individuals or big time companies that sought to maintain and fully own their web domain name.

Baker commented that trademark squatting works in similar manner. There are opportunists who think that they could earn plenty of cash by using and registering the brands of popular and successful international or U.S businesses in their own country. China is particularly cited as a place where numerous cases of business name squatting takes place.

In fact, the lawyer mentioned that his law firm currently handles several cases of brand name piracy most of which relate to China. At present, his law firm is involved in a cancellation case wherein a Chinese business attempted to enlist a name that pertained to a liquor company that is popular both in the United States and Europe. The attorney said that the alcohol industry’s U.K branch went to China in order to enlist the business. But the company was surprised to discover that a local business had already registered a similar trademark.

In order to avoid cases of trademark squatting, which can result to huge losses, large industries in the U.S are advised to quickly file their company brand especially in the regions where cases of business name squatting are prevalent. Owen Smigelski, another trademark legal counsel, commented that in the past few years, their cases of trademark squatting increased and most of which are connected with Asian nations in the southeast region. He commented that while the litigation procedures could amount to thousands of U.S dollars, it only costs barely $1,000 to enlist a brand name.

The American dream is achieved when someone finds something that they love and learns how to make money with it. These days, more and more people are doing just that. Leaving their regular 9 to 5 jobs and setting out to turn their hobby into a full time business is the ultimate goal for many entrepreneurs. While many people open an actual store, others are finding success with their own virtual store on the Internet. Even those individuals with an actual storefront presence are finding it difficult to deny the global reach that only the internet can provide.

Individuals who are creative and enjoy making things often find success in the production of handmade products of all kinds. Handmade soap, candles, greeting cards, virtually any type of well made hand crafted product will sell. As with any crafting business, creating handmade crafts involves time, patience and an eye for detail. In order to turn your hobby business into your day job, you must possess all of these qualities and more.

What type of product will you be selling and how do you plan to present the merchandise? If you decide to make handmade soap, for example, you will want the presentation to be just as creative as the soap itself.
Do you want to sell a hot product such as soy candles. Sometimes a finding hot product is the key.
No matter the product, presentation is a very important part of marketing.

The first thing to consider is distribution. How will you promote your product and how will consumers learn about your new business? Many new businesses begin at local craft fairs and local distribution to specialty stores. Typically, there are craft fairs to celebrate the seasons. Check with your local chamber of commerce or tourism center about the upcoming community calendar. If attending craft fairs, be sure to print business cards with your information. Have plenty on hand and sit them on your table for customers and passers by to pick up. If you have a website, be sure to print the information on your business cards and give one to every customer who purchases from you.

When shopping for a website, start small and work your way up to the more expensive services as your business grows. In the beginning, a website featuring your business and product line will be more than sufficient. If you don’t have a merchant account that will allow you to accept credit card payments directly, consider signing up with PayPal and accept immediate payments directly through your website. Customers can use their bank account or any major credit card for instant payments.

If you are just starting out and business resources are limited, avoid the temptation to take out a large advertisement in a publication. Instead, write a press release and send it to editors, publishers, writers, reporters and anyone else who has the power to get your news published. This is a terrific way to promote your business for free and, as a bonus, many people pay more attention to news stories than advertisements. This is the best way to gain free promotion for your new business and will save a lot of money in advertising.

Some people will look at the title of this article and laugh but if you have become afflicted with this problem you know that the title of this article was written in all seriousness!

You started out like anyone else. You thought maybe you could use a rug for a room in your home that needed a bit of transformation. You became interested in rugs and did a bit of research. You may have even gone into a few rug galleries or possibly searched the ads for a good deal from an individual. You bought a few books on Oriental Rugs and maybe even joined the local Oriental Rug Society.

It is now years later and you have lost control. Every inch of your floor is covered in handmade rugs. You have rugs on the walls, rugs on the tables, draped across couches, rugs rolled up in the closets. The mouse-pad for your computer even looks like an Oriental Rug.

Your spouse, if you’re lucky enough to have one, has threatened, “It’s either the rugs or me!” on more than one occasion.

If this were not bad enough you are still interested, fascinated and searching for one more amazing, incredible hand-woven rug. Maybe now you only collect Persian rugs from the early part of the 18th Century woven by a specific tribal group that is so esoteric most of the rug dealers you know have barely even heard of them.

Can this dreaded disease be cured with a tonic?
Is there a rehab spot for rug addicts!
What can you possible do?

It always seems like the most incredible rug in the world is the one you don’t have. This was a quote from my brother so I must give credit where credit is due.

It’s not that the rugs you have in your possession have become
uninteresting in any way, it’s just that this art form appears to have infinite combinations. Two weavers can take the exact same design elements; wool colors and types, even from the same dye batches and create two completely different rugs. Are you doomed to a life of buying beautiful rugs with no end in sight or is there a way out?

Hopefully, your taste in rugs is decent and this is a completely relative frame of reference but if your collection has a number of acceptable and charming pieces and your enthusiasm is such that your friends are starting to appear just to come and look at your rugs there may be some hope.

This is where the cure presents itself.

I know it will be hard at first but I want you to get the concept of finding a new home for one or two of the rugs in your collection.
Let your friends know that you are contemplating this.
Now, as your tastes have evolved, think carefully about which rug you would not miss too terribly if you were able to part with it somehow.

We are assuming of course that the new owner would be taking very good care of the rug and appreciate it as much as you did!
Now, as you are moving forward with this and letting people know you may be selling one or two of your rugs, someone you know shows a great deal of interest and lights up like the sun at your mention of this possibility. This is the where you make your move.
You will never be cured if you cannot cross the line here. Don’t hesitate.

Show him the rug you have chosen and if he remains interested, sell it and the cure has started!
One rug sold and you are on your way to becoming a cured rug addict. You will now be known as a Collector/Dealer! Viola! The transformation is complete and for every rug you sell, a new rug is waiting to be discovered.

I know this story well as it is my story as a deeply afflicted, genuine dyed in the wool Oriental rug addict.
The beauty of this cure is the pure joy you will find when you sell one of your treasures to someone that loves it as much as you do!

All About Glass Sinks

The hottest trend in bathroom design today is the handmade glass sink - often referred to as a glass vessel sink - which has become the latest must-have for luxury homeowners. Combine the versatility in color and design offered by glass with the vessel mount trend and it’s no wonder that our company, Glass Artists Gallery, can barely keep up with demand. Vessel-mounted, fused, slumped, mosaic, under-mounted and hand-blown sinks have even influenced the faucet manufacturers’ designs because of their unprecedented popularity.

We find ourselves answering questions and dispelling myths surrounding sinks just about every day. This article was created to answer some of the more common questions such as “What is a handmade sink?” “Are they expensive?” “What are the differences in the glass sinks I see in the showrooms and online?” “Are they durable?”

Types of Glass Sinks

To better understand the three main categories of glass vessel sinks, it helps to understand the three main types of glassmaking:

Cold Glass — Working with glass at room temperature. Examples are mosaic glass, stained glass, glass carving and etching.

Warm Glass — The process of fusing, slumping or other kiln forming techniques at temperatures between 1100 and 1700 degrees Fahrenheit.

Hot Glass– The process of blowing glass using a furnace that melts the glass at 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. Once the glass is gathered on the end of a pipe, the artist forms the hot glass using a “Glory Hole” (an oven that maintains a temperature of around 1200 degrees Fahrenheit). The resulting work is then slowly cooled in an annealing oven.

With the above in mind, there are three main categories of artisan crafted glass sinks you will find at Glass Artists Gallery:

Fused & Slumped — Glass fusing is the process of joining together pieces of glass. When the right kind of glass is heated and then cooled properly, the resulting fused glass piece will be solid and unbroken. Using fusing techniques, the artist creates patterns and designs in color. The resulting sheet of fused glass is then slumped into the vessel shape. In the slumping process the glass is laid into, or on top of a mold and heated just to the point where it “Slumps” to fit the form of the mold. Once the glass reaches the desired form it must be cooled quickly enough to stop the movement that will result in cracking. Although this might sound simple, the resulting sinks can be quite intricate in their design and require hours of painstaking labor.

Blown Glass — Hand blown glass sinks are created through a much different process. This “hot glass” process allows an artist to create myriad different styles, colors, shapes and sizes that are always unique. Layers of glass are “gathered” onto the end of a “rod” or “pipe” and formed, blown and worked into a vessel shape. Color is applied in many different forms at the beginning of the process. Once finished, the piece is “annealed” for a minimum of 48 hours for maximum durability. Due to variations in the glass blowing process, every sink will be unique.

Mosaic Glass — Pieces of hand-cut colored art glass are adhered to the inside surface of a 1/2″ thick annealed glass bowl. Annealing is a process of bending the glass at extremely high temperatures to assure durability of use in the most extreme temperature conditions. The sink is then grouted with a specially mixed blend of sand and tinted cement, then sealed and finished with a protective clear polymer coating to create a smooth surface which is colorful, sturdy, easy to care for and a breathtaking focal point for any bathroom.

Handmade or Production?

As you can see from the types of glass sinks that are available, you have many different choices for incorporating a stunning centerpiece in the bath. The choice you will need to make is whether you want an original “work of art” - an artisan created sink - or a “factory produced” glass vessel. The trend in glass sinks has created a flood of offshore imports that are now available. We liken the current choices to the art world where you can find original art as well as “prints” or “reproductions”. Production sinks made in a factory are mass produced generally using single sheets of glass. Many are painted with a design. Few, if any, are truly “slumped & fused”.

Durability of Glass Sinks

How do we, as glass specialists, reassure the end user of a glass sinks durability? The analogy I use is that the glass sinks we sell are made by professionals and are able to withstand similar abuse as a porcelain sink. In other words, if you drop a heavy object into a glass sink with enough force to break it, you would have also broken a typical porcelain sink. They both have similar strength characteristics.

The difference between these two materials is that glass is more prone to “thermal shock“. Thermal shock can occur when there is a sudden temperature change of more than 70 degrees. For example, you don’t want to pour scalding hot water (over 120 degrees) into a glass sink. Hot water from the tap is generally 100 - 110 degrees, so the temperature difference is well within the safe zone. The most common occurrences of thermal shock happen when a sink is left on a jobsite where the temperature is unregulated.

When installing a glass vessel sink, be sure your contractor knows that thermal shock can be a problem if the jobsite is not yet heated. In addition, make sure they know that the drain assembly should be hand tightened only. Over-tightening the drain is the second most common cause of breakage.

At Glass Artists Gallery, our clients use glass sinks not only in the powder room, but also in the master bath, guest baths and even children’s baths. When treated and installed properly, they are durable, safe and fantastic design options. With proper lighting, they will “glow” and cast wonderful light and shadow effects throughout the bath. They will certainly set your project apart!

An always popular handmade gift is a bouquet crystals, pebbles, and potpourri. The first two are easily available and inexpensive. Making potpourri is simple. All you need are different types of dried flowers.

Getting your mother her favorite plant in a pot is also a very popular gift. You could also make her a hanger for the pot. To make the hanger, all you need is a milk carton, a sharp pair of scissors, and some paint. Cut some windows on the top of the carton, paint it, add your plant to the bottom of the carton, and hang it using string. Voila! Your hanging potted plant is ready!

If you know to knit or sew, you can make your mom anything a sweater, a top, cushion covers, quilts, etc. Just make sure you start on your project well ahead of time so that you don’t have to rush it. You could also take photographs of your family or your mom when she was young and put them into a photo frame, make her an album, create a collage or even use the pictures in quilts, throws and cushion covers.

If you’ve run out of money and time, there is another option for an excellent gift. You can give your mom coupons and IOUs she can “cash in” whenever she wishes. Through your coupons, you can volunteer your services for household chores. For instance, your coupon could be a promise to wash and dry the dishes, set the table, clean the house, do the laundry, etc. You can make the coupons attractive and probably give them along with a breakfast in bed for your mom on Mother’s Day.
